Her birthplace was Roswell on March 29, 1985. Gerina is the full name of her. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). She is American and is of Mexican American heritage. Since she was a child she's had a keen desire to participate in activities. Gerina first started golfing at the age of 15. Gerina has graduated from Goddard High School. While she was in the high school level, she was able to win the New Mexico state golf tournament. Also, she played volleyball at the state level. She began attending the University of Texas. In her senior year, she won every tournament she played in. Through her college professional career, she took home an award for Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year Award and UTEP Female Athlete of the year.
